Nintendo forces to cancel the Switch Ryujinx emulator

Geeknetic Nintendo forces Switch Ryujinx 1 emulator to be canceled

Nintendo is one of the most belligerent companies in the technology sector when it comes to denouncing anyone who dares to use or reference its intellectual property. Removal of videos that show the company’s games, persecution of any type of backup, and an obsession with destroying any emulation project are some of the examples of the Japanese company’s practices. Their tactics reach such a point that Nintendo has become a meme on the Internet.

Today he had to suffer threats from Nintendo to the developers of Ryujinxa well-known open-source Nintendo Switch emulator that improved the possibilities of the console’s limited hardware, allowing games to be played at 4K resolution or with improvements.

It appears that the company has sent an “offer of settlement” (possibly a threat) to the project’s lead developer to cancel all development of the emulator, delete its website files, and delete its organization.

The developer has decided to comply with the wishes of the Japanese multinational and close the project, removing the Ryujinx download from its website. They join other similar projects such as Yuzu that end up suffering threats from the company.

It seems that, not content with that, Nintendo has started another campaign targeting YouTubers who make gameplays of emulated Nintendo games, such as @RetroGameCorps, to force them to stop their broadcasts.
