Nicholas Lloyd Webber, a Grammy-nominated songwriter and record producer and the eldest son of famed songwriter Andrew Lloyd Webber, has died. He was 43 years old.
“I am heartbroken to have to announce that my beloved eldest son Nick died a few hours ago at Basingstoke Hospital,” Andrew, 75, said in a statement to The Post on Saturday.
“His entire family is reunited and we are all totally bereft. Thank you for all your thoughts during this difficult time.”
Nicholas, also known as Nick, entered hospice care earlier this week as his 18-month battle with stomach cancer worsened, his father announced.
Nicholas was dealing with an “attack of pneumonia” due to stomach cancer, his father said, calling the illness “dreadful”.
“We’re all here and the family here has come together, and I think it was the right place for all of us to be,” he said in an Instagram video on Thursday.
The composer was absent from Thursday’s premiere of his musical “Bad Cinderella” on Broadway to be by her son’s side.
Born on July 2, 1979 in England, Nicholas was best known for his work in the film “The Last Stop” (2021), “Mr. Invisible” (2013) and the British program “Love, Lies and Records” (2017).
Nicholas is survived by his father, mother Sarah Hugill, wife Polly Wiltshire and siblings Imogen, Isabella, Alastair and William.
He married Wiltshire in June 2018.
