The New Zealand authorities have reported this Tuesday that they have imposed a new package of sanctions against another 75 individuals and two companies linked to the Russian Government in response to the invasion of Ukraine.
In a statement, the country’s Foreign Ministry has indicated that the new measure now includes the members of the Russian Parliament who had been exempt from the sanctions until now, for which it has clarified that there are 24 individuals and two entities affected. for these penalties.
They are joined by another 51 Russian oligarchs and an entity with “economic relevance”. The sanctions will come into force this Wednesday and also extend the measures imposed against fifteen individuals against whom travel restrictions already weighed.
On the other hand, the Government of New Zealand has announced that it will implement other measures in commercial matters, for which it has decided to extend the list of prohibited objects for export to Russia and Belarus.
In addition, it has prohibited the import of luxury goods from Russian territory, as well as energy products. These measures are scheduled to take effect on November 4.
