New Zealand Foreign Minister Nanaia Mahuta announced on Monday the imposition of additional sanctions against the military industry and against the Russian Armed Forces in the context of the continuing fighting in Ukraine.
The new New Zealand sanctions are directed against “the branches and independent arms of the Armed Forces [rusas]including logistical support, as well as the defense entities in charge of supplying weapons and equipment to the military,” Mahuta detailed in a release. The measures also extend to the Russian insurer Sogaz, the Russian Railways (RZhD) and defense entities that “research, produce and test military equipment for the Russian Armed Forces.”
