PlayStation is working on a bunch of big budget projects that we’ll soon see on PlayStation 5 and possibly PC. Many of them have not been officially revealed, so it is striking that one of them came to light without Sony officially announcing it.
It just so happens that Ballistic Moon, a relatively new development studio, has announced that it is working on a new game with a “world-class distributor.” While the studio preferred to keep the identity of its partner a secret, one of the actors involved in the project revealed that Sony Interactive Entertainment is the project’s distributor.
At the moment, there are not many details about this secret project, that said, some interesting things have been revealed. For example, in job offers, Ballistic Moon has confessed that his new project will be developed in Unreal Engine 5, the new graphics engine from Epic Games.

In addition, the information revealed by the actor also reveals that the video game is codenamed Project Bates and that its motion capture director is Joshua Archer. In case you don’t know, this is a creative who has worked on games like Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare; horizon zero dawn; Until Dawn Y ForzaHorizon 3. She has also participated in movies like Ready Player One, Godzilla Y Mowgli: Legend of the Jungle.
Another important point is that Ballistic Moon seems to be made up of various creatives and managers who worked at Supermassive Games. It is for the above that many believe that Project Bates is probably a narrative horror game in the style of Until Dawnalthough that remains to be seen.
One thing to keep in mind is that this project is only at an early stage of development. It is for the above that it is very likely that there will still be a long time before we see it in action. We’ll be watching and letting you know about whatever Ballistic Moon and Sony Interactive Entertainment have in the works.
