New NVIDIA 531.61 WHQL drivers with support for the GeForce RTX 4070



After the launch of the new NVIDIA RTX 4070 the company has released some new drivers that support this new graphics card. The NVIDIA 531.61 WHQL drivers offer support for this new model, but it has also been added support for RTX Video Super Resolutionfor CUDA 12.1 and has increased the maximum number of concurrent NVENC sessions from 3 to 5.

In addition to adding these new features, it also fixed some issues that were present in previous versions of the drivers, these are:

  • Stability issues with Assassin’s Creed Origins in version 531.18.
  • The Last of Us Part 1 game may crash randomly on NVIDIA RTX 30 Series graphics cards.
  • Hogwarts Legacy may get a black screen or crash when launching the shader build screen with drivers 531.18.

But also some known issues have been left to solve in future versions of the drivers, some of these are:

  • The monitor may flicker when it wakes up from sleep if DSR or DLDSR is enabled.
  • Watch Dogs 2 may show flickering in the sky when launching on an RTX 4090.
  • Applying GeForce Experience Freestyle filters can cause games to crash.

You can now install these new drivers, although you have been able to buy a GeForce RTX 4070 you will have to do it for compatibility. You can do it from GeForce Experience or downloading them from their website.
