Aug. 31 (EUROPA PRESS) –
A new Israeli military report puts the number of Palestinians who entered Israeli territory in the October 7 attack at 6,000, including 3,800 trained and armed militants.
According to Israeli television Channel 12, citing data from the Gaza Division of the IDF, the figures mean that the number of Gazans who have entered Israel is double that previously reported.
The sources also indicate that the border was breached at 119 points, double the 60 previously reported. In addition, some 1,000 militants fired rockets at Israel from Gazan territory that day, meaning that some 7,000 Gazans participated in the attack.
Some 5,000 rockets were launched from Gaza that day, of which around 3,000 were fired in the first hours of the offensive. This data was sent to the Israeli Chief of Staff, Herzi Halevi, according to Channel 12.
A military spokesman said the operational investigation into the attack was not yet complete and was continuing in line with situational assessments and operational needs. When the investigation is complete, it will be made public, he said.
