New Israeli Defense Minister stresses that Hezbollah is “defeated”

MADRID 10 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The new Minister of Defense of Israel, Israel Katz, stated this Sunday that Hebzolah has already been “defeated” with the Israeli military offensive in Lebanon.

“The blows we have dealt have defeated Hezbollah. The death of (Hasan) Nasrallah is the jewel in the crown,” he stated, according to the newspaper ‘The Times of Israel’.

The objective now is to “change the reality in the north in the field of security”, although the absolute priority as minister will be to prevent Iran from achieving nuclear weapons.

Katz has also advocated ensuring that Hamas does not have any role in the Gaza Strip in the agreement that ends the war.

Katz made these statements during the inauguration of the new Israeli Foreign Minister, Gideon Saar, who replaces Katz himself. However, just moments before the event, Hezbollah launched 15 projectiles into Israeli territory.

Regarding his balance as Foreign Minister, Katz has stated that “we have managed to maintain legitimacy and avoid decisions in international organizations to stop the war unconditionally.”
