New Horizon Forbidden West DLC surprises Genshin Impact fans, why?

After months of waiting Horizon Forbidden West received its first major expansion this week: Burning Shore, which presents a new narrative arc and numerous novelties in the playable section. Aloy is the first LGBTQIA+ character in Genshin Impact

In case you don’t know, Aloy came to Genshin Impact in September 2021 as part of a special collaboration with PlayStation. While she can no longer be obtained in any form, all players who unlocked her in the special event over a year ago can still play as her.

Technically, Aloy becomes the first LGBTQIA+ playable character in Chinese free-to-play after the release of Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shore. This finding took the players by surprise, who reacted with all kinds of comments on social networks.

While the protagonist of the PlayStation exclusive is the first non-straight playable character, it’s worth noting that, possibly, Genshin Impact already had LGBTQIA+ representation.
