The global phenomenon of Fruits Basketbased on the hit manga by Natsuki Takaya, continues to captivate its fans with a new stage adaptation. On Friday, the production team of Butai Fruits Basket: The Final (Fruits Basket on Stage: The Final) revealed a special promotional video and visual featuring 16 cast members who will bring the beloved characters to life in this final stage of the story.
The new trailer includes footage from the play based on the second season of Fruits Basketwhich has raised expectations among fans. The work will be presented in Hulic Hall Tokyo from October 18 to 27, 2024, and will feature the return of many actors who already participated in previous versions of the theatrical adaptation.
A cast much loved by fans
Fans will be pleased to know that several actors will be returning to play the characters they love. Ayano-Christie Yoshida will reprise the role of Tohru Honda, the kind-hearted and optimistic protagonist, while Naoya Kitagawa will return as Yuki Sohma, the charming “prince” of the high school. Shōhei Hashimoto will also return in the role of Kyo Sohma, Yuki’s temperamental rival, whose troubled relationship has been a major theme in the narrative of Fruits Basket.
Yūya Asato will once again play Shigure Sohma, the enigmatic and playful member of the family, while Shōgo Tamura will take on the role of Hatsuharu Sohma, known for his intense personality swings. Ruito Koga will return as Momiji Sohma.
Chisato Minami will return as Arisa Uotani, Tohru’s loyal friend with a gang past, while Yukari Nakamura will play Saki Hanajima, Tohru’s mysterious friend with psychic abilities. Marina Horiuchi will reprise her role as Machi Kuragi, Yuki’s love interest, while Yūna Sekine will play Kagura Sohma. Elena Kamata will play Kisa Sohma, the shy and sweet girl who adores Tohru, and Airi Yoshiharu will return as Hiro Sohma, the youngest member of the clan, known for his sharp intelligence and sharp attitude.
Daiki Miyoshi will play Kureno Sohma and Sho Ayanagi will reprise his role as Akito Sohma, the enigmatic leader of the Sohmas whose role in the curse that plagues the family is central to the plot.

In addition to the returning actors, Fruits Basket: The Final adds two new talents who will play essential characters at this stage of the story. First up is Yūto Hiroi, who will play Kakeru Manabe, Yuki’s fellow student council member known for his lively personality. Secondly, Nene Shida will play Isuzu “Rin” Sohma, a crucial character in the exploration of the trauma and grief that plagues the Sohma family.
One of the highlights of this new stage adaptation is the involvement of Gaku Matsuda, who will play both Akira Sohma and God. Akira Sohma is a central character in the family’s story, while God is an omnipresent figure in the curse that plagues the Sohma clan.
