EK Waterblocks, the well-known manufacturer of high-performance liquid cooling products, has announced its new block EK-Quantum Velocity2 Direct Die D-RGB – AMD Ryzen Edition.

Unlike most liquid cooling blocks, this model joins EK's special “Direct Die” line, whose common characteristic is that they are prepared to operate in direct contact with the processor chip, that is, by removing the IHS or “shell” that they have on the outside.

This allows temperatures to be considerably improved, although in exchange we will lose the warranty we may have on the processor.

It has a design with black acetal and rounded edges that allow the liquid to be seen in the center thanks to a transparent area. The base and the microchannels for heat exchange are made of copper, while the contact part with the CPU chip is exactly shaped to fit with the different chiplets that make up the AMD Ryzen 7000 processors.
