(EFE) – Neuralink, the neurotechnology company founded in 2016 by magnate Elon Musk, announced this Monday that it received authorization to test a technology that allows paraplegic people to control a robotic arm with their thoughts.

On January 29, the company announced that it had implanted its first brain chip in a human. That news came nine months after the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) gave its approval for Neuralink to begin human studies.
In July she said she was ready to implant a second brain chip and in August she highlighted that the second beneficiary, who suffers from a spinal cord injury, could control different electronic devices with her mind to play video games and even design 3D objects.
Just a week ago Neuralink received authorization to launch the first trial of its brain implants in Canada. The trial was opened to people with tetraplegia caused by amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) or cervical spinal cord injury.
