The Netherlands’ Defense Minister Kajsa Ollongren has announced that they have managed to assemble the parts of a complete Patriot missile system in collaboration with another country for delivery to Ukraine.
Ollongren has highlighted that they had been working for some time to achieve this delivery and has indicated that they are not going to reveal which country has participated in the initiative, since he considers that it should be each State that makes this information public, according to the Dutch news agency ANP. .
This missile system has the capacity to shoot down enemy projectiles, according to Ollongren, who has stressed the “crucial” importance of Ukraine being able to defend its skies.
The minister also stated that Romania’s announcement of the delivery of another Patriot system is “very good news” and highlighted that the United States is collaborating to strengthen Ukraine’s defenses.
kyiv, for its part, has stated that it needs another seven Patriot systems to guarantee anti-aircraft defense against Russian attacks and Germany has expressed its willingness to collaborate in this regard.
Although this objective has not been achieved for the moment, Ollongren has highlighted that this increase is positive “because the Russians continue to intensify their air attacks.” The minister has not specified when the new anti-aircraft system will arrive in Ukraine to avoid giving military information to Russia.
