Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Wednesday that the country’s armed forces will continue to “forcefully” attack the positions of the Lebanese Shiite party-militia Hezbollah until the safe return of civilians evacuated from northern Israeli territory due to attacks by the Lebanese militia is guaranteed.
“I cannot explain to you everything we are doing, but I can tell you one thing: We are determined to bring our residents back to the north safe and sound,” Netanyahu said in a new video posted on his official profile on the social network X, where he stressed that the attacks are against Hezbollah, and not against Lebanon.
“We are attacking Hezbollah with blows they have not heard before. We are doing it with force, we are doing it with determination. One thing I promise you: we will not rest until they come home,” said the Prime Minister of Israel, a country that in recent days has launched several attacks against Lebanese cities, including Beirut.
The attacks by the Israel Defense Forces against Lebanese territory have so far left more than 600 dead and thousands wounded. In addition, the country’s top military authorities are now pointing to preparations for a possible ground incursion into Lebanon across the common border.
