Netanyahu assures that Israel will not give up until it achieves all the objectives of the war

MADRID Jan 18 (EUROPA PRESS) –

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has described the first phase of the armistice agreement as a “temporary ceasefire” and has warned that Israel will not stop until it achieves all the objectives set for the war in the Gaza Strip.

Israel will not rest “until all its war objectives are completed,” Netanyahu stressed in a public speech reported by ‘The Times of Israel’ in which he stressed that both the outgoing US president, Joe Biden, and the incoming US president, Donald Trump, have assured that Israel could return to the fight in Gaza if the next phases of the agreement are not met.

The United States has promised Israel, as Netanyahu recalled, that it will have all the weapons necessary to return to war if necessary and if this happens, it will do so “with new forms and with very great power.”

Furthermore, he highlighted that the number of Israeli troops deployed in the Philadelphia Corridor, on the border with Egypt, will increase in the first phase of the agreement, despite the fact that the text says otherwise. Israel “will gradually reduce forces in the corridor area during the first phase.”

Netanyahu has also explained that Palestinians who have committed murders will not be sent to the West Bank, but will go to Gaza or abroad. Instead, prisoners who have not been convicted of murder will be released in the West Bank.
