Nearly 90 suspected Islamic State members arrested in several operations in Türkiye

Turkish authorities announced on Friday the arrest of nearly 90 suspected members of the Islamic State jihadist group in a series of operations carried out in more than 20 provinces of the Eurasian country.

Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya said on his social media account that a total of 88 suspects have been arrested in 23 provinces and stressed that the authorities “will not allow the centers of terrorism to open their eyes.”

“We will continue the fight, with your prayers and support, until the last terrorist is neutralised,” he stressed. Islamic State, which came to control large areas of Iraq and Syria after a lightning offensive in 2014, has carried out several attacks on Turkish soil in which at least 300 people have died.
