BERLIN, June 23 (DPA/EP) –

At least 69 people have been arrested in Berlin during a pro-Palestinian demonstration in which hundreds of activists participated.

The detainees are being investigated for the crime of disturbing public order, aggravated assault and inciting hatred, as reported by the Berlin Police. There are four injured officers, one of them after being hit in the head by a glass bottle.

On Saturday, some 1,800 people participated in a demonstration under the slogan “Let’s stop the genocide in Gaza” in which there were also incidents.

A counter-demonstration “Against all anti-Semitism” was called to protest the first act and the Police intervened to separate both groups.

In another previous rally on Alexanderplatz, some 60 pro-Palestinian demonstrators protested calling for an economic boycott under the slogan “No money for Israel’s crimes!”
