Nearly 40 Pakistani Taliban have been killed during the last ten days of operations on the Afghan border

Aug. 30 (EUROPA PRESS) –

Pakistan’s military has announced that at least 37 members of the Pakistani Taliban have been killed during the last ten days of military operations in the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province, on the border with Afghanistan.

The latest of these offensives occurred in the early hours of Wednesday to Thursday in the Tira valley and has resulted in at least 12 deaths among the ranks of Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).

In total, 37 militants were killed and 14 seriously injured in the operations, according to a statement issued by the press office of the Pakistan Army, the ISPR.

The TTP, which differs from the Afghan Taliban on organizational matters but follows the same strict interpretation of Sunni Islam, represents more than a dozen Islamist militant groups operating in Pakistan, where they have killed some 70,000 people in two decades of violence.
