Nearly 30 people die after bus falls into ravine in western Pakistan

Around 30 people have died and more than 20 have been injured this Wednesday after a bus fell into a ravine around the Pakistani town of Washuk, located in the province of Baluchistan (west), as confirmed by authorities.

Basima Deputy Commissioner Ismail Mengal detailed that the accident took place after one of the bus’s wheels burst, causing the driver to lose control of the vehicle, which plunged into a ravine.

Thus, he pointed out that so far 28 deaths have been confirmed, including three children, and 22 injured, before pointing out that the bus, which covered the route between Turbat and Quetta, was transporting between 45 and 50 people, according to the report. Pakistani newspaper ‘Dawn’.

The Chief Minister of Balochistan, Sarfraz Bugti, has conveyed his condolences to the families of the victims, something that has also been done by the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Shehbaz Sharif, who has called on the authorities to give all necessary assistance to the injured.
