The president of El Salvador, Nayib Bukele, revealed his decision to register as a candidate for re-election for a second term. Despite the constitutional prohibition that weighs on that figure, Bukele will be able to opt for re-election due to the resolution of September 2021 that interpreted that the president can participate in elections for the second consecutive time.
