Naughty Dog won’t be “The Last of Us studio forever,” promises Neil Druckmann

Neil Druckmann doesn't want The Last of Us to be Naughty Dog's only franchise

Despite having little more than a decade behind him, The Last of Us It quickly became one of the most important and popular contemporary gaming franchises. While some fans are eagerly awaiting a new installment, others believe that Naughty Dog should turn a new leaf and launch a completely original project. It seems that Neil Druckmann agrees with that last point.

Since its birth in 2013, the saga of PlayStation obtained 2 main installments, a DLC that complements the story of the first title, 2 remasters, a remake and an acclaimed television series starring Peter Pascal and Bella Ramsey. Additionally, a multiplayer spin-off was in development, but was canceled late last year.

Neil Druckmann, co-creator of the saga, was closely involved in all the projects, including the TV series where he served as writer and executive producer. Despite his constant involvement, he states that the studio will work on other projects outside of that post-apocalyptic world.
