The bottle of milliamps has been uncorked. For years, the 5,000mAh have accompanied us with little progress. Some phones flirted with 5,500mAh and few touched 6,000mAh. They could literally be counted on the palm of your hand.
Since the launch of the Snapdragon 8 Elite and MediaTek Dimensity 9400 something has changed: now most manufacturers are moving with batteries of 6,000 or more mAh. It is a spectacular figure that did not seem to be able to be easily surpassed. We couldn’t be more wrong.
This jump appears to be just the beginning. The 6,000mAh standard is taking its first steps in 2024, and it is expected that in 2025 practically all phones will have this capacity. But, according to leaksthere are much larger batteries on the way.
Realme has already announced that its Neo 7 will have a 7,000mAh battery, a brutal figure that we already saw in the new Redmagic phone. Digital Chat Station, one of the most reputable Chinese leakers, anticipates that other brands, such as Redmi and OnePlus, will also have 7,000mAh phones.
The good news does not end here: the leaker says that they are considering launching phones with 8,000mAh batteries, a figure closer to that of a powerbank or a small tablet.
It will not be a high-end issue, the source points out that the mid-range phones of 2025 will have 7,000mAh batteries, higher resolution screens and faster fingerprint readers.
Excellent news that makes it clear that, although not everything is technical specifications, they are always well received.
