Following NVIDIA’s announcement about the new GeForce RTX 40 Seriesmanufacturers like MSI have raised dedicated portals to provide little data about the next generation of graphics cards, and as we can see in the case of MSI, we found some novelties based on the cooling of these cards.

For starters, NVIDIA’s fifth generation of graphics card fans feature a semi-enclosed system with fins on the fan frame that optimizes the air pressure exerted by the fans, reducing noise and turbulence along the way, something important to ensure good performance on these cards.

The biggest novelty, or at least the most curious, is a new design of square heatpipes that allows for better contact between the heatsink and the GPU, evacuating heat faster. Although they will not have the same performance as a real steam chamber, we can assume that their construction will allow them to function in a similar way.

Finally, the heatsink will have curved airflow control fins that will improve the efficiency of aluminum finned heatsinks, again reducing the turbulence that the air may suffer inside and extracting hot air faster.
