Following the stability and degradation problems experienced by the 13th and 14th generation Intel Core processors, which forced Intel to release several microcode updates to try to mitigate them; History seems to repeat itself with Arrow Lake, known as Intel Core Ultra 200K.
These processors were a disappointment recognized by Intel itself, describing it as “a disastrous launch”, with performance that did not meet expectations, especially in games. The company promised that it would try to solve part of the problems with the release of a new microcode called 0x114, along with other mitigations and problems that they had detected.
This microcode was expected at the beginning of 2025, but it seems that MSI has gone ahead and released new BIOSes for its motherboards MSI MEG X890 ACE and MSI MPG Z890 WIFi equipped with the INTEL PR5 BIOS with the microcode 0x114 and ME 1852 v2.2 firmware.
It will be necessary to see if this update helps to improve the gaming performance of the Intel Core Ultra 200K, at the moment it seems that no user has reported improvements, although it is still early to draw conclusions.
It is expected that in the coming days more models from MSI and other manufacturers will begin to receive similar BIOSes.
