MSI has announced support on their motherboards with Intel Z790 and B760 chipsets for the new 24 and 48 GB DDR5 RAM modules. In this way, they also increase the maximum RAM supported on these boards to 192 GB in the case of motherboards with four DIMM slots (4 x 48 GB), and to 96 GB on boards with two slots.
Additionally, this support for the upcoming 24 and 48 GB DDR5 memory modules is also added to motherboards with 600 series chipsets, specifically the MSI motherboards with Z690 chipsetsB660 and H610 will also support these new memories, as long as they are accompanied by 12th generation and 13th generation Intel Core processors.
Compatibility of 24 and 48 GB modules on MSI Motherboards
Support depends on the Steppings or series of each generation, in such a way that the 24 and 48 GB DDR5 modules are compatible with Steppings B0, C0 and H0 of Intel’s 13th generation processors, and with C0 and H0 of the 12th Generation.
