Knowing that today 90% of the top-of-the-range products come with an almost cloned technical sheet, Motorola has provided the Edge 40 Pro with a screen with unusual features. Not so much because of its resolution or contours, which fall to the side thanks to the use of a curved AMOLED panel, but because of the fact that it works at 165 Hz, when 120 Hz is usually normal. It is protected with a layer of Gorilla Glass Victus glass, in turn with some kind of treatment or anti-reflective coating.

The rest of the hardware has the expected level. There’s a chipsets Snapdragon Gen 2, up to 12 GB of RAM, a good capacity battery, an apparently successful camera (the front one stands out, with no less than 60 MP) and high-speed charging, supporting up to 125 W. It is also compatible with wireless charging at 15 W and reverse for headphones and other devices. Finally, the phone is protected against water and dust at the IP68 level, which means that it can withstand 30-minute immersions at a depth of 1.5 meters.
In fact, judging by the photos, the phone can be used underwater without any problems, which is not common in other submersible phones (although Motorola puts in the fine print that it has not been designed for such use).
The price of the Motorola Edge 40 Pro will not be cheap, although it is not one of the most expensive in its segment either. It will go on sale in the coming days with an RRP of 899 euros, and one of its main claims will be the use of an Android 13 ROM with almost no additives, except for the security options and optional gestures that Motorola usually integrates.
