The launch comes at a time when the brand is positioned as one of the favorites in Latin America. According to the global technology analysis firm Canalys, Motorola is the second best performer in the region so far in 2024, behind Samsung and ahead of Xiaomi.
What does each one have?
Both devices share 512GB of internal storage, 12GB of physical RAM, Android 14.0 operating system, and a third-generation Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s processor.
For taking photos, the main camera is 50 megapixels and the front camera is 32 megapixels, a considerable improvement compared to the previous series, in which the main camera was 12 megapixels.
They also share their equipment like Moto AI, Motorola’s assistant integrated with Artificial Intelligence, with which, for example, you can customize navigation on the device or ask it to remind you of that screenshot you took for some reason.
And since there is never enough AI on the market these days, you will also have access to Gemini, Google’s AI, even from the external screen.
In the box, in addition to the cell phone and instructions, users will find a cable and the famous charging cube, an accessory that its competitors have eliminated and must be purchased separately.
Razr 50 Ultra
It offers a 4.0-inch external screen, while the internal screen is 6.9”, making it one of the largest on the market.
As with other models, Motorola is betting on the use of its devices as accessories, which is why the new Razr comes in colorful colors and with textures on the outer body of suede or vegan leather, on which fingerprints are not marked.
For the 50 Ultra there will be three colors:
- Peach Fuzz (Pantone’s Color of the Year)
- Midnight Blue
- Green nori
In addition, the company announced that in approximately a month it will launch a special edition Hot Pink color alluding to its iconic Razr V3.
The starting price is 24,999 pesos.
Razr 50
The colors available in this case are:
- Beige
- Orange
- Charcoal gray
The internal screen is also 6.9 inches, the difference is in the external display, it is smaller, 3.6 inches. That is to say that unlike the 50 Ultra, this one does have borders. All of this from 16,999 pesos.
Other releases
Motorola also announced that it will enter the tag business, small devices that are used to locate objects. The most popular one on the market is Apple’s. However, the American company did not specify the cost of this device and only said that it would go on sale in about a month.
