Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin signed a document on Wednesday according to which Europe Square in the central Dorogomilovo district will be renamed Eurasia Square.
This is according to an official document of the capital’s president, which was reported by the Russian news agency TASS.
Russian authorities have changed the names of some public spaces following the outbreak of war in Ukraine and the majority response from the West in support of kyiv.
Along the same lines, some European countries, especially those with a Soviet past, have also removed tributes to the Soviet Union and have tried to distance themselves from Russian influence.
