Through the PlayStation blog, Boon recalled important details about the franchise, such as the creation of the Mortal Kombat original for arcades in only 8 months. He noted that the series has been kept alive by the hard work of its developers and their constant search for innovation.

“If you see Mortal Kombat 1 either Deadly Allianceeither Mortal Kombat 3, Mortal Kombat 9, Mortal KombatX… they don’t play the same, they don’t look the same. They all bring something new to the table, to the fighting mechanics that none of the other games have brought. And that is why there is always a freshness in terms of the work”, affirmed the creative.

Boon is surprised by the impact of the series in the world of entertainment. Mortal Kombat was one of the main reasons for the creation of the Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB). In addition, he has made the leap to film and television.

As for the future of the saga, the creative made it clear that it is in good hands and guaranteed that they will continue to innovate in the next installments. All with the aim of giving players an always fresh and attractive experience.

“One of the things that’s great about working on video games Mortal Kombat for so long is that we now have team members who weren’t born when Mortal Kombat was born. And so we always have a wide variety of players, experiences, ages, different diversity and stories. So there is never a shortage of new ideas.(…) That is something I can say with great confidence. Mortal Kombat it will continue to feel new, fresh, and pushing the boundaries with respect to certain aspects of game design.” Below you can see the anniversary trailer:
