Morocco increases its military spending by 7.25 percent

The official Moroccan budget for 2025 includes a significant increase of 7.25 percent in defense spending, rising from 124 billion dirhams (about 11.5 billion euros) to 133 billion dirhams (about 12.3 billion euros). .

This budget increase will serve to modernize military equipment and improve the defensive capacity of the Armed Forces, according to the budgets presented last Friday before the Moroccan Parliament by Minister Nadia Fettah, according to the Moroccan news portal al3omk.

Defense spending includes almost 53,000 million dirhams (4,900 million euros) for the National Defense Administration (45,356 million for personnel – 4,200 million euros – and 7,632 million for material – 707 million euros -).

Since 2019, Morocco has significantly increased its defense spending, from 96.7 billion dirhams (8.9 billion euros) in 2019 to 115.5 billion in 2022 (10.7 billion euros), 124.7 billion in 2024 (11.5 billion euros) and 133 billion in 2025 (12.3 billion euros).
