Nearly fifty people of different nationalities have been injured after the bus they were travelling in overturned on the road connecting Suez with Cairo, Egypt, the Egyptian newspaper ‘Ahram’ reported on Saturday night.
The number of injured has risen to 43. Of this total, 21 of those affected are citizens of Russian origin, another eleven are Turks, nine more people are Italian, three are Egyptian and the remaining two are British.
All the victims of the accident have been immediately transferred to the medical centre in Suez. In addition, Egyptian Health Minister Khaled Abdel Ghaffar is personally supervising the provision of assistance to the injured, most of whom are in a mild condition, according to the same newspaper.
The accident, the cause of which is not yet known, occurred when the bus was returning from Sharm el Sheikh to Cairo, Cairo 24 added, while revealing that law enforcement is considering possible speeding or a malfunction of the vehicle as the cause of the accident.
