At least 213 “terrorists” and “bandits”, as well as their “collaborators”, have fallen after several days of intense fighting in the state of Zamfara, northeastern Nigeria, which has also left about twenty casualties among civilians and Army soldiers. .

Since last Saturday the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) together with ground troops, in the so-called ‘Operation Hadarin Daji’, have been hitting several locations where these armed men operated, such as Dansadau.

“At least we have 213 bodies of the terrorists and their collaborators,” said the Army report to which the Nigerian newspaper ‘The Will’ has had access, in which it is reported that the offensive began in response to the attacks by these groups, which are held responsible for the deaths of these ten civilians.

The governor of Zamfara, Bello ‘Matawalle’ Muhammad, has expressed his condolences “to those who were injured and to the families of those who died as a result of collateral damage” from the fight against these armed groups.

In recent days, this region has once again been the scene of several attacks. The last one on the Randa community, leaving about twenty civilians dead and several men, including adults and children, kidnapped.

Zamfara is one of the most dangerous regions in all of Nigeria, with large communities with little presence of security forces, forcing local authorities to encourage their inhabitants to arm themselves to repel and defend themselves against attackers.
