More than 1,400 children participate in a contest to create video games to combat bullying and pollution

More than 1,400 children and adolescents from 10 countries have participated in the International Technology Olympics, an initiative of the NTT DATA Foundation that promotes digital skills in the youngest for the development of video games that propose solutions to problems in their environment, such as bullying and pollution environmental.

It is a free initiative that has been developed in a digital learning platform, available at English, Spanish, Portuguese and Italian; and that allows users to create and design video games, stories and animations.

This edition has had, specifically, more than 1,424 participants between the ages of 7 and 16 from 10 different countries. All of them have developed digital skills through games and challenges to solve problems in their environment.

With this initiative, NTT Data Foundation It seeks to awaken interest in programming in the little ones and to develop ‘soft skills’, such as creativity, teamwork, critical thinking or the ability to solve problems.

Among the winners is an eight-year-old girl named Carolina González, who has developed a video game inspired by a teacher of hers who uses a wheelchair. She has done it to transmit “that people with disabilities are equal to those who do not have it” and So fight bullying.

Eight-year-old Simone Desardo proposes a video game in which users must learn to use clean energy and discard polluting energy, while Maria Spigno, of the same age, has developed a video game in which he analyzes the usefulness of technology for children.
