Warzone 2.0 moves its action to the map of Al Mazrah, a city in the United Republic of Ada that has 18 points of interest. Some of its regions, such as Al Bagra Fortress, Embassy, Zarqwa Hydroelectric, Taraq, Sariff Bay, and Sa’id, will not be strange to those who have played Modern Warfare II multiplayer. Among the novelties of Warzone 2.0 we also have the loadouts custom builds, a backpack system to better organize gear, a new gulag with 2vs2 matchups and an AI-controlled jailer, and two zones called Strongholds and Black Sites where players can find AI fighters.
Other novelties that Warzone 2.0 introduces are: aquatic combat (it is possible to navigate canals, rivers and the open sea), new vehicles (such as the Heavy Chopper and the GMC Hummer EV electric truck), a fuel system (which is no longer unlimited ) and the random appearance of three circles that will divide the stage. Additionally, in squad modes there will be the option to interrogate enemies to discover locations.
As for DMZ, it is billed as “a narrative-focused, open-world extraction mode where Operators alone or in squads have complete freedom to complete faction missions, take on additional secondary objectives, engage enemy Operators or AI combatants, and search for valuable items, all while struggling to survive towards exfiltration.” DMZ mode integrates several of the new features of Warzone 2.0, including the new backpack system and interrogations.
After the release of Warzone 2.0 the original Warzone will be re-released as Warzone Caldera. This will be a separate experience and will keep all player progression, battle pass content, and other in-game purchases.
Regarding the multiplayer of Modern Warfare II, the first season introduces two new maps called Shoot House (available from launch) and Shipment (for the middle of the season). In addition, Special Operations will receive a new mission (High Ground) and the first episode of Raids. Finally, we do not forget the new battle pass, the new operators and the Modern Warfare FC event that for a limited time will allow the signing of special operators such as Neymar Jr., Paul Pogba and Leo Messi.
