With the theatrical release of Mission: Impossible — Deadly Judgment Part 1many fans managed to clearly identify the similarities of some scenes with Uncharted 2. This was considered very likely, given that the film’s director had previously mentioned the influence of the PlayStation series on the saga. Mission Impossible. Well, now it turns out that not always and that there is no relationship between the two IPs.
The number of people who pointed out the similarities between the train scenes in the movie and the Uncharted 2: Among Thieves was great, even one of those responsible for Uncharted he took them as imitation and praise.
However, the film’s director, Christopher McQuarrie, has just revealed that there was no influence from Uncharted 2 in the production and denied any other possible previous inspiration.
“Not even remotely. I honestly know very little about that world,” the filmmaker replied when questioned in Threadsand that the relationship between Uncharted and Mission Impossible it was always a misunderstanding.

Mission Impossible has never been inspired by Uncharted
This is a surprise, since on the occasion of the premiere of Mission: Impossible — Rogue Nation McQuarrie was asked on Twitter about how he got to the scene of the plane, in which agent Ethan Hunt approached him in motion: “Group effort / Uncharted,” said the filmmaker. Even Justin Richmond, co-director of Uncharted 3, who took this as flattery.

The original tweet is no longer available. and now mcquarrie refers who used the word Uncharted (so, capitalized) in the “literal” sense (something unknown, of which there is no record) and not referring to the Sony franchise.
“Gaming is just something I don’t know anything about”, expressed the filmmaker. “The only one I ever played is Unreal Tournament, which was a lot of fun as long as he was playing against unskilled opponents. As soon as I went with the insiders, I became cannon fodder.”
