Mojang Studios prepared a very special announcement as part of the celebrations for the 15th anniversary of Minecraft. The developer confirmed this morning the production of a animated series which will be broadcast on Netflix and that it will be in the hands of a studio that has worked on various series on the streaming platform.

Thanks to The Hollywood Reporterwe know that the Minecraft series will be in charge of WildBrainproducer who has worked on Ninjago: Dragons Rising and Carmen Sandiego. The company is no stranger to the world of video games, as it also made sonic prime for SEGA.
Now it will work with Netflix and Mojang Studios to offer fans of Minecraft an animated production. We know that the series will feature an original story starring new characters. Thus, it will expand the universe of the franchise, which has positioned itself as one of the favorites of players around the world.
For now there are no details about the creative team behind the series and a release window has not been revealed either. It is worth remembering that Minecraft will also have a live-action movie thanks to Legendary Pictures and Warner Bros.
The film will feature the participation of renowned actors, such as Jack Black and Jason Momoa. It is scheduled for release in April 2025. The animated series is another of the franchise’s 15th anniversary surprises. Mojang Studios has spoiled fans with several gifts for the celebration and is expected to make more announcements in the coming days.
