Miley Cyrus has spoken out about the Devastating wildfires in Los Angeles.
The “Flowers” singer, 32, shared a statement on her Instagram Stories on Saturday showing her support for those affected by the deadly fires devastating southern California.
Cyrus also recalled the fire that destroyed her Malibu home in November 2018.
“This is a photo taken of my porch in 2018 after losing our house in the Woolsey Fires,” she wrote, along with a photo of her destroyed mansion that she shared with then fiancé Liam Hemsworth.
“It’s a feeling you never forget,” Cyrus continued. “Walking towards the door you would pass by every day; “Expecting to be greeted by your loved ones as you always do, but instead, you will be met with a pile of ashes and rubble.”
The former Disney Channel star He said that “his soul hurts for those who are experiencing this devastation firsthand and I cry for my city.”
“It’s beyond heartbreaking,” he said. “Los Angeles represents ‘living the dream,’ but the reality today is destruction and ruins.”
Cyrus also shared links to wildfire response organizations, including the Malibu Foundation which she helped launch in 2018.
“Time, resources and dedication from within and outside our community will heal us, but for now it hurts deeply,” he wrote. “Love always, Miley.”
Cyrus’ Malibu home was destroyed by a wildfire in California more than six years ago.
Hemsworth, 34, was home and left safely with the couple’s pets.
“I’m one of the lucky ones,” Cyrus wrote on social media at the time. “My animals and the LOVE OF MY LIFE made it out safely and that’s all that matters right now. My house no longer exists, but the memories shared with family and friends are still valid.”
Cyrus later spoke about the ordeal in a interview 2019 with Vanity Fair.
“I will never be happy that all those memories and pictures and things that I loved are gone,” Cyrus said. “But having an experience like this, I feel more connected to being human again.”
Cyrus married hemsworth a month after losing his house. They announced their separation in August 2019 and finalized their divorce in January 2020.
The Los Angeles wildfires of 2025 have destroyed the homes of numerous celebrities including Paris Hilton, Adam Brody and Leighton Meester, Mel Gibson, Eugene Levy, Diane Warren, Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag, Billy Crystal and Rosie O’Donnell.
Starting Sunday, at least 16 people have died in the crisis, while almost 200,000 more are displaced.
