Hot Wheels Unleashed 2 Turbocharged aims to offer more diversity of vehicles, settings and mechanics. To achieve this, the title will launch with more than 130 vehicles including motorcycles and ATVs for their debut, whose performance will be differentiated by Stock, Powered and Ultimate classes. Players will be able to customize their driving style with skill points that will be used to purchase specific perks and assemble an ideal build. Regarding the scenarios, the title will offer five different environments, each with unique racing surfaces that affect the performance of the vehicles.
Another novelty in Hot Wheels Unleashed 2 is the introduction of two new abilities: skidding and jumping. Lateral movements will allow you to make tactical impacts against opponents, avoid obstacles and perform flips, while jumps can be executed at any time and place. These abilities, in addition to those present in the original installment, will open the door to new opportunities to overtake rivals, discover hidden shortcuts and new sections of the track.
Milestone has also worked to expand the game modes with a two-player split-screen mode, while the online experience will be enhanced with cross-play between all platforms (except Nintendo Switch). For its part, the story-based career mode will offer a campaign starring four original characters with animated scenes. Regarding the content generated by the users, in the sequel the editors of tracks and liveries are improved and a sticker editor is added. This type of content can be shared between platforms.
“We are really delighted with the enthusiasm shown by the press and the players towards the first title, a global success that reached more than 8 million players around the world”, says Luisa Bixio, CEO of Milestone. “Building on the solid foundation of unanimous recognition, with Hot Wheels Unleashed 2 – Turbocharged we’ve decided to create a whole new gaming experience to raise the bar for arcade fun even higher. Having a partner like Mattel by our side is a great source of pride and we are ready to run even faster towards new shared goals.”
