Just yesterday we heard the news that Sony increased the price of its PlayStation 5 console in various countries, including ours. This rise of 50 euros for both models it leaves an advantage (in terms of price) over its Microsoft competitor, the Xbox Series X. With Sony’s announcement, speculation began to be seen on networks about whether Microsoft would carry out the same move, but a company spokesman has confirmed to Windows Central that prices will remain.
In the communication it is clearly indicated that the prices will be maintained, being the Xbox Series X $499, £450 or €500 and the one with the little sister Xbox Series S $299, £250 or €300. In this way, the Microsoft console acquires a slight price advantage in some countries where the price of PlayStation 5 has risen, countries from which the United States is excluded by not applying this increase. In addition, with the difference in price of PlayStation 5 Digital compared to Xbox Series S (from €449 to €300), the latter becomes a great option to be able to enjoy this new generation of consoles.
we could think that this rise was reasonable due to the increase in production costs in recent months, but for the moment Microsoft has decided to take advantage of this price difference. This does not mean that Microsoft will not raise the price of its consoles in the future, but for now we can assure you that it will not carry out the same move as Sony.
