Microsoft has announced that it will maintain the price of the console it develops, Xbox, in response to the recent rise in prices of its main competitor, PlayStation 5 (PS5), announced by Sony.
The Japanese manufacturer announced this Thursday that had made the “difficult decision” to increase the recommended price of its latest generation console in different regions of the world due to “high global inflation rates”.
This increase in the final price both in the Digital Edition consoles and in the models with Blu-ray support has been of immediate effect in EuropeUnited Kingdom, China, Mexico, Canada and Australia, while in Japan it will be effective from next August 15.
In relation to these modifications, Microsoft has announced that, for its part, there will be no changes in the final price of the console it develops, Xbox, according to a statement sent to Eurogamer.
“We are constantly evaluating our business in order to offer fans great gaming options. The sale price of Xbox Series X remains at 499.99 euros, and that of the Xbox Series S, at 229.99 euros”, the company has indicated. In Spain, the price of the series X is 499.99 euros and that of the S series, 299.99 euros.
