Microsoft is updating the Windows Spotlight user interface, with two new options that reduce the space dedicated to this functionality on the main screen, by bringing together in the same place the links that are currently distributed throughout the panel.
Desktop Spotlight either Windows Featured Contentis a tool that displays a new image on the lock screen and desktop background every day, with suggestions and recommendations in different locations and messages from Microsoft.
Currently, the technology company distributes this information across the entire screen, with direct links to access recent data related to the image it is currently displaying.
However, Microsoft has proposed a new format for this tool, which will soon bring together all the available options in a single space on the screen, as discovered by user PhantomOnEarth on X and collects XDA Developers.
This new user experience has appeared in Desktop Spotlight beta 22635.4145 and is distinguished from the current one by incorporating two other different options. The first incorporates the ‘Learn more’ button below a brief description of what is seen in the background image. The second, gathers different options in a single box. For example, it introduces the buttons ‘Ask Copilot’ or ‘See more photos’ similar to the one shown in the interface.
The well-known leaker of hidden components in Windows Preview builds has pointed out that it is also possible to keep the only option currently available to continue viewing the home screen as until now.
