Oct. 30 (Portaltic/EP) –
Microsoft Teams ha redesigned the platform experience with new features that will allow users combine chats and channels in the same interfaceas well as classify messages with filters and organize conversations according to your needs.
As was known in the month of August, the communication platform has worked on a reorganization within the Teams application to improve user experience, so that they can more easily access and organize the messages and information in their chats and channels.
Now, Microsoft has announced that with the November public preview release, users will be able to combine chat messages and channels within the same space with a joint interfacein addition to searching and Sort messages using filters and organize conversations as you like, among other news.
Specifically, with the new redesigned experience, the technology company aims to help users collaborate “more efficiently and effectively” in work environments through the platform, as indicated in a statement on his blog. To do this, they have created a “simpler” conversation flow, which will allow all users to have important information at hand, as well as organize and communicate “their way.”
CHATS AND CHANNELS IN THE SAME INTERFACE
In this sense, one of the integrated novelties is that the Messages from chats and channels have been united in the same chat interfaceallowing you to more easily navigate and prioritize all user conversations, without having to continually switch contexts.
In this way, the company has indicated that users will be able stay up to date with conversations, regardless of the volume of messagessince they will not be dispersed in different locations and, therefore, the search for specific information is easier. However, this redesign is optionalso those users who wish to keep chats and channels separate can configure it at any time.
On the other hand, users can also Sort messages by using filtersas is the case of ‘Unread’, ‘Chat’, ‘Channels’, ‘Meetings’ or ‘Silenced’. Thus, all you have to do is click on one of these filters to obtain all the messages that have been classified in this regard.
This makes it easier to search for messagesallowing the user to fine-tune the process using several filters at the same time. For example, selecting ‘Channels’ and ‘Meetings’ will display all meeting information that has been posted to channels.
Teams has also introduced a mentions tab ‘@mentions’ for directly access all messages addressed to the users in questionthrough “a single interactive list”. This makes it possible to view these messages, without having to search through several conversations.
NEW WAYS TO ORGANIZE CONVERSATIONS
Microsoft has also indicated that the new chat and channel experience will allow users further customize the work environment to fit your needs. For this, technology has implemented custom sectionswhere relevant conversations about a specific project or topic can be gathered in the same section.
In these custom sections, users will be able to bring together chats, channels, meetings, Teams bots or AI agents in the same section. In total, you can create a total of 50 sections and 50 elements can be added per section. All this, with the idea of managing projects more efficiently.
These sections can be change location easily, simply by clicking on the section, dragging and dropping it to the desired location. Thus, users will be able to order the sections as they wish. In addition, users will also have a new favorites section.
MORE CUSTOMIZATION IN TEAMS
Teams will also allow you to customize the chat and channels so that they adapt to the workflow of each user. Now, it has integrated new configuration controls to choose issues related to how to view chat and channelsif you want to see the message previews or if you prefer to have all the channels in a single list.
Likewise, they have been introduced specific settings for Teams on mobile devices. Thus, you can choose between viewing the messages organized by sections or directly the most recent, in addition to allowing a Optimized experience for different screen sizes.
Microsoft has also improved the way send new messagespromoting the use of existing channels. Additionally, it allows you to start a chat or post on the channel from the same place, without having to navigate to the specific channel first. In the same way, with the new ‘Go to’ shortcut in search barusers will be able to navigate Teams without having to switch context.
These new features will be available in November for all users with access to the Microsoft public preview Teams for desktop and iOS and Android mobile devices.
In addition to all this, Microsoft has announced that will add threaded conversations within Teams, although the company plans to widely launch this functionality to mid-2025.
