The Microsoft Store has received various new features in recent months, including an interesting redesign that makes it more attractive, and has also included the occasional section such as the topic of instant games.
Although instant games were announced late last year, they have not been available to all users until well into this year, and to everyone’s surprise, Microsoft has just announced that are no longer available.
Apparently, people were not interacting much with the topic of instant games in the Microsoft Store, and that is why they have decided to eliminate them. They were minigames present within the “Arcade” category.
The games do not disappear, as they will still be available in the store, but now you will have to download them to play them.
Previously, the user simply had to go through the Microsoft Store, and could view instant titles in the same interface without having to download them.
Basically what Microsoft wanted is for users to spend much more time in the Windows 11 store enjoying these titles without having to download them.
They are quite simple games, many inspired by Angry Birds-style mechanics, and you will still have them available in the store, but now you will have to download them.
This is not an elimination that will be missed, but it is surprising that a project of this magnitude has been active for such a short time.
