Microsoft finally abandons the development of games for Xbox One

As expected by now, Microsoft has finally abandoned the development of games for Xbox One, something that, although it does not prevent other developers from doing the same, It does mean that company-owned studios will stop making games for the previous generation of Xbox consoles.

However, this does not mean that the company will completely drop support for existing games for the console, so we will continue to see updates for games like Minecraft, As far as we remember, it is owned by Microsoft after the acquisition of Mojang.

The most recent Xbox Games Showcase had no no title for xbox one while Matt Booty, head of Xbox Game Studios, indicates that they have focused on the ninth generation of consoles, that is, the Xbox Series S and Series X.

Booty has also indicated that they will focus on using Xbox Cloud Gaming to provide next-gen gaming to Xbox One users, so they will be able to play games like Microsoft Flight Simulator on their consoles, at least remotely in the cloud.
