Microsoft announces the end of support for Office 2016 and 2019

Oct. 15 (Portaltic/EP) –

Microsoft has announced the end of support for several Office suites, standalone applications and productivity servers, so that starting October 14, 2025 they will no longer have security updates and fixes.

The technology firm has given users of some of its Office products a year’s notice of the end of support so that they can prepare and migrate to more recent versions.

Office 2016, Office 2019, standalone productivity applications (Excel, Access, OneNote, Outlook, PowerPoint, Project, Publisher, Skype for Business, Visio, and Word) from 2016 and 2019, and Exchange Server 2016 and 2019 and Skype for Business Server 2016 and 2019 will end support on October 14, 2025.

This means that they will not receive more patches to correct vulnerabilities and bugs nor will they have technical support in case they experience problems in their operation, as Microsoft details in its blog. Tech Community.

Microsoft recently launched the Office 2024 suite for Windows and macOS computers, designed for consumers and small businesses who prefer subscription-free access to programs like Word, Excel and OneNote.
