Nov. 7 (Portaltic/EP) –
Microsoft has updated the Windows Paint and Notepad applications, in which it has integrated new generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) functions for photo editing and text rewriting, which are already offered through the Windows Insider channel.
The company has informed through your blog for developers who have begun to deploy these Paint and Notepad updates through the Canary and Dev channels on Windows 11 with versions 11.2410.28.0 and 11.2410.15.0, respectively.
Paint, for its part, has released the so-called Generative Fill, a creation tool designed to “perfect the digital art” of users, who will be able to make edits and additions with AI through text commands, maintaining the artistic style of your projects.
To use it, you must click on the ‘Selection’ option in the toolbar and make a rectangular or freestyle selection. Then, choose ‘Generative fill’ from the menu and add the desired description and, finally, click on the ‘Create’ button. This process can be repeated as many times as necessary until a satisfactory result is obtained.
Microsoft has commented that Generative Fill will initially be available on Copilot+ routers with a Snapdragon processor and that, to use it, you must sign in with a Microsoft account.
Paint has also launched Generative Erase, so that the AI fills the empty space left in an image from which an object has been erased so that it appears that it “was never there.” This way, users can test with the ‘buttonsAdd area to delete’ and ‘Reduce area to delete’.
With this new version of Paint for Windows Insiders, Image Creator also reaches more users, which was launched last year in preview and is now available for Windows 11 users in the United States, Italy, Germany, France, Canada and the United Kingdom. To use it, you need to sign in with your Microsoft account.
As for Notepad, app version 11.2410.15.0 It allows you to use AI to rephrase sentences, adjust tone and modify the length of content according to user preferences. To begin, you must select the text and choose the ‘Rewrite’ option and, in this case, the ‘Retry’ option is also offered to generate additional versions.
On the other hand, Microsoft has managed to improve the startup performance of the application, so with this update “most users will see an improvement” at the time of starting the service “of more than 35 percent” and up to 55 percent for some users.
