The Ministry of Housing enabled on April 10 the new registrations for the Mi Casa Ya program, through which the Government provides subsidies to buy new housing to the most vulnerable households.
(Minvivienda highlighted an increase in allocations from Mi Casa Ya).
The program is aimed at Colombians interested in acquiring brand new housing, who have not been beneficiaries of another housing subsidy or interest rate coverage and who are not homeowners in the national territory.
Besides, the interested household must have completed the Sisbén IV survey and have a classification between A1 and D20 for urban and rural households.
(The new Mi Casa Ya rules would not revive home sales.)
The transition stage of ‘Mi Casa Ya’ will take place throughout 2023 and its purpose is to guarantee the housing of families who only need the subsidy to have financial closure and complete their real estate business.
Once the household has met the program requirements, the credit establishment or solidarity economy entity with which it registered must certify and accredit:
1. That the home has the approval of a mortgage loan or housing leasing.
2. That your home is ready for delivery and you plan to sign the deeds in the next 6 months. At that time, the home status changes from “Interested” to “Applicant”.
– The Ministry of Housing has provided a consultation module on its website, through which you can review its status and the steps to follow to start or continue your process. You only have to enter the identification number of one of the household members.
– On April 10, the platform for new registrations was also opened. Therefore, if your household is not enrolled in ‘My House Already’, has a classification in Sisbén IV between A1 and D20 and meets the other requirements of the program, you must go to the credit establishment or solidarity economy entity to start the process. If the household already has a previous registration and has a classification in Sisbén IV between A1 and D20, it must also go to the credit establishment or solidarity economy entity with which it registered to continue its process.
(Please note: the changes that the Mi Casa Ya program will have).
– If the household already has a previous registration, but has not yet been classified in Sisbén IV, it must go to the office of sisben of your municipality and request the application of the survey, which is a requirement of the program.
– The transition stage of Mi Casa Ya will be carried out throughout the year 2023 and its purpose is to guarantee the housing of families who only need the subsidy to have financial closure and complete their real estate business. Once the household has met the program requirements, the credit establishment or solidarity economy entity with which it registered must certify and accredit:
A. That the home has been approved for a mortgage loan or housing lease.
B. That your home is ready for delivery and you plan to sign the deeds in the next 6 months. At that time, the home status changes from “Interested” to “Applicant”.
– Once the credit establishment or the solidarity economy entity accredits these conditions, the Ministry of Housing will apply the prioritization criteria and verify compliance with the requirements. If the household is prioritized and meets all the program requirements, the subsidy will be assigned.
