“Dr. Sheinbaum is very clear that energy will be one of the determining factors in the pace of investment in Mexico,” she told business leaders after her presentation at the Coparmex Binational Meetings.
He pointed out that in addition to a very significant investment from the public sector, it is also necessary to accelerate or facilitate investment from the private sector, otherwise it will be difficult to achieve the goals of 54% participation by the CFE and 46% by entrepreneurs.
What corresponds to the private sector must have conditions that facilitate investment, authorizations and “everything,” said Ebrard.
The next Secretary of Economy also spoke about the relationship with Japan, which he described as one of the most promising for Mexico, and within this framework, cooperation with companies from the Asian country on issues of clean energy and electromobility is also planned.
There are also other issues on the Mexico-Japan agenda, such as the aeronautical and space industry, everything related to water treatment, which will be key for the country, as well as the promotion of the naval, port and logistics industries.
“President Sheinbaum has proposed a significant investment in at least 12 Mexican ports at the same time. It is a huge challenge that we have ahead of us,” said Ebrard.
