Mexico will enjoy the 'honeys' of nearshoring between 2024 and 2030, estimates Banxico

In the presentation of its Regional Economies report, the central bank highlighted that 23.2% of those surveyed believe that the effect of this trend will be noticeable between 2026 and 2030.

The sectors that can benefit the most go beyond manufacturing, as it will also impact education, which is already preparing to meet this demand. Food and construction services are not far behind because they are sectors that will be used with the arrival of more companies.

“All regions of the country have the potential to benefit from relocation, not just the north. All regions should have the infrastructure,” Alejandrina Salcedo, the central bank’s chief economist, said via video conference.

The survey was carried out on more than 400 companies, not only Mexican, that the central bank has on its board of directors to carry out the analysis.

The reasons why companies see the issue of relocation so close is because of the constant conversations on the subject and the plans they already have to expand or expand their investments.
