The “smart” glasses that Ray-Ban and Meta jointly developed will soon receive a new update with new features

According to the latest rumorsthe parent company of Facebook and Oculus is working in an updated version of Ray-Ban smart glasses with integration of Meta AI Artificial Intelligence and a small screen.

Until now, the smart glasses from both companies had a camera system, but did not offer a screen, and all notifications were received via audio and voice. With the new version, the possibilities will increase by being able to receive visual alerts on the small screen, such as notifications and notices

The new goal and Ray-Ban smart glasses are expected to be launched on the market during the near year 2025, specifically, throughout the second half of the year.

Even with this small screen, the glasses will continue to be an accessory that depends on the smartphone to function, and they certainly will not be augmented reality glasses.

For that market, Meta is working on the so-called Orion Project, glasses that we have been able to see in prototype form with a 70º field of vision, but which, unfortunately, are not expected to reach the market in the short term.
